Energy Conservation Through Efficiency
The primary areas of our expertise are analyzing the efficiency of your domestic Hot Water, Heating and Air Conditioning Systems and the Building envelope. Your fuel costs per year can be in excess off forty percent (40%) of your operating costs depending on the age of the structure and the efficiency of the equipment.
In older buildings it may be more difficult for separate metering, but never impossible. For the obvious reason it is the best method to control your costs. If the tenant pays the bill, the tenant conserves. Another method becoming more common is the Resident Utility Billback system otherwise known as RUBS. This allows the resident or tenant to take some personal responsibility for his or her water usage and water expense. National Apartment Association studies have shown a reduction of close to thirty percent (30%) in the amount of water that is used which is good for the environment as well as reducing operating costs.
